Kelli Toth, Anchorage Recycling Coordinator says cardboard is the number one material at the Anchorage Regional Landfill. Taking up a lot of space, Toth urges residents to divert their cardboard from the landfill as the holiday season approaches. Toth expresses that while the material is easily recyclable, not enough people are doing that. The landfill is projected to have enough room for 47 more years of operation, however, Toth believes it is important to shift the population's behaviors to reduce this unnecessary waste in advance.
