As of 8 p.m. ET on April 15, essential workers in New York must wear face coverings. This effort will help prevent the potential spread of COVID-19.
This mandate applies to sanitation workers, as well as other essential workers like healthcare professionals and grocery store employees.
News 12 has more information:
Starting tonight at 8 p.m., all of New York's essential workers must wear masks.
Besides medical professionals, the mandate includes everyone from postal workers, sanitation workers and employees of grocery stores – all workers who have direct contact with the public.
Officials say face coverings don't have to be anything specific, like an N95 respirator.
