Hurricane Ian's devastation is causing a backup of yard waste collection. Counties in the area are doing their best to eliminate excessive yard waste.

Residents of Hillsborough County are reminded to be patient as the county finds contractors to collect yard debris.

Due to Hurricane Ian, large amounts of yard waste need to be picked up. This will take more waste haulers than the county currently works with, so the process might take longer than usual. Surrounding counties are opening yard waste drop-off centers to alleviate the collection stress.
