The EPA is sending toxic waste from East Palestine, Ohio to Roachdale, Indiana and the state’s Governor isn’t happy about it.
Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb learned recently that the EPA would be moving around 2,000 tons of butyl acrylate from East Palestine. The waste is heading towards a Putnam County landfill that accepts waste from other states.
Holcomb took to Twitter to say, “the materials should go to the nearest facilities, not moved from the far eastern side of Ohio to the far western side of Indiana.”
William Muno, the former director of the EPA’s Region Five Superfund program said, “hazardous waste moves throughout the country on a daily basis.” Muno mentioned that the people of Roachdale should not be worried.
