Jacksonville City Council has approved a contract with waste management company GFL Environmental on October 24th. The contract is set to last seven years, with prices for residents going down by the 7th year. The Council also amended a prior ordinance allowing for up to five residential waste haulers to operate in the city. Now, only GFL is contractually and legally allowed to collect waste for Jacksonville.
