Lyft is the largest electric bike-share operator in North America. The transportation provider recently partnered with Redwood Materials, a battery recycling company, to ensure all of its e-bikes and scooters are provided a second life. With a lifespan of about five years, these bikes and scooters will very quickly be sent to landfills if not recycled. The partnership will allow for safe and efficient e-waste recycling as Redwood Materials does all of its recycling domestically, as opposed to abroad like many other e-waste recyclers.
