NWRA Retains The Vogel Group to Advance Industry Compensation Requests

Arlington, VA – The Biden Administration released its Fall 2022 Regulatory Plan. The regulatory agenda provides a view of the Administration’s priorities and actions federal agencies are likely to release in the near and long term.

Issues of significance to the industry contained in the plan include rulemakings from the Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) on its heat standard and updates to lockout/tagout rules; the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) proposal to void existing and ban future non-compete clauses between employers and their employees; and the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) move to tighten limits on how much fine particulate matter can be in the air. NWRA will continue to monitor the Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) priorities, which include changes to its drug and alcohol clearinghouse as well as any amendments to CDL requirements. NWRA will also work to maintain the short-haul exemption for Electronic Logging Devices.

In addition, NWRA is following regulatory actions at the EPA including their recently issued air pollution regulations for heavy-duty engines and vehicles.

“We are engaged in an extensive review of the Biden Administration’s Regulatory Agenda for areas that directly and indirectly impact the waste and recycling industry,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith. “NWRA will continue to work with federal agencies in support of the private sector waste and recycling industry to ensure that our members can continue providing essential services to their customers throughout the U.S.”
